18TH ANNUAL FACULTY + ALUMNI FINE ART AUCTION
The Cannery, Saturday Nov 9 – Reception 2:00pm
Preview November 7th – 8th, 10:00am – 6:00pm
“Nightime Landmarks 1” by Leo Bugel
It’s that time of the year again! Time to come out and show your support for AAU faculty and alumni, and especially the Fine Art Scholarship Fund. This is the best chance you’ll get all year to own original artworks by AAU faculty and alumni, and so much the better when 50% of the proceeds go directly to the Student Scholarship Fund and are tax deductible. The remaining 50% goes directly to the artist. Just getting started in collecting or looking to grow your current collection? Looking for a one-of-a-kind holiday gift? The Fine Art Auction is the perfect opportunity to take some art home with you.
The majority of pieces are offered for silent auction, which makes it easy and convenient to bid on more than one at a time. The live auction is pure excitement; last year, it was great fun to see recent graduate Leo Bugel watch as bidders battled over his his painting “Sunset (Brought To You by Chrysler)” which turned out to be one of the hot items of the day. Leo has three more pieces in this years auction, and we expect competition to be keen. One thing’s for sure, with dozens of AAU alumni represented, there will be plenty to pique your interest.
This year we have many offerings from AAU Faculty members, including 14 by Associate Director for the School of Fine art Painting Carolyn Meyer, 18 by Faculty Member Kevin Moore, and 23 paintings by Fine Art Instructor Brian Blood. All together, more than 90 artists present over 400 individual works.
